4–3–3 formation

GOAL KEEPER and a TEST-MANAGER

— Every goal keeper(test manager) wants a clean-sheet(bug-free product). But you can save(find) as many shots(bugs) as you want but at the end of the day people remember will only the ones that you let in :P

CENTRE-BACKS and MANUAL TESTERS

— Functional testers are like our 2 central defenders. There job is to protect the goal(application) from the opposition(bugs/attackers). They always say ‘Attack wins you games defence wins you titles

FULL-BACKS and AUTOMATION TESTERS(SDETs)

— A modern day full-back(SDET) in a football(development) team needs to possess skills of the highest extent to support defensive(tests) and attacking(development) duties. A full back will run both sides of the field whenever demanded.

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER and BACK-END DEVELOPER

— He is the person linking between the defenders(testers) and attackers(other developers). He reads the game(functionality) completely and dictates the play.

FULL-STACK DEVELOPERS/ARCHITECTS and CENTRAL MIDFIELDERS

— They are the creative minded people in the team and they also work box-to-box (backend-to-frontend). Their job is to provide goals(services) and occasionally they score them too.

FORWARDS and FRONT-END DEVELOPERS

— They are the show-men. They take credit for all the hard-work done from the back ;) but sometimes they have to take the blame too :| Without them you cannot win(launch) the game(application). After all, its the messi’s and ronaldo’s the ones who will win you games.

ENGINEERING MANAGER and FOOTBALL MANAGER

— Team Selection, Strategy, living up to the expectation of fans(customers) and handling the pressure from media(clients) and opposition(competitors) are the roles of a football(engineering) manager.
